Quincy Symphony Chorus to present
Inspirational Christmas Concert
The Quincy
Symphony
Chorus, directed by Dr. Phyllis Robertson, will present its Christmas
Joy
Choral Concert on Saturday, December 8 at 7:30pm. This
wonderful Christmas concert will be sure to put your family
in the holiday spirit.
Harpist
Melanie Morgan,
and oboist Marianne Peters will accompany the chorus in its performance
of Three Nativity Carols and How Far Is
It to Bethlehem both by
Stephen Paulus. Melanie will accompany the women of the chorus in Lynne
Palmer’s
Come, Love We God!, and Marianne will
accompany the chorus on the Huron Carol
arranged by Dale Warland. A variety of traditional
Christmas choral
works accompanied by pianist Mary Reeve include Gloria in
Excelsis from Vivaldi’s Gloria, folksongs He Is Born
and Carol of the Bells, In Dulci Jubilo,
the Hills are Bare at Bethlehem with wind
chimes, Gloria by Mechem, Ave Maria
by Donizetti and Gloria from Miss Criolla
by Ramirez with percussion. As you can see, this concert
will include
something for everyone! The festive
atmosphere of the Christmas lighting and the inspirational holiday
music will
be a great beginning to the joyous holiday season.
The concert will take place at
the First
Union Congregational Church at the corner of 12th &
Maine St. in
Quincy. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12
for seniors, and free for children 18 and under. Purchase

Broadway in Quincy. Season tickets are
