Jason Wong

Baritone

Jason Wong is currently a senior music education major studying at Truman State University.  Born in Hong Kong, Jason moved with his family to the United States when he was two years old.  After living in Texas for four years, the family moved to St. Louis where he first started taking piano lessons and singing.  His first choir experience was in the third grade with the St. Louis Children’s Choirs.  He stuck with the choirs as well as piano lessons until he graduated high school and learned that music can bring different cultures and different personalities together.  This simple thought ultimately factored into his decision to major in music.

Jason is now a part of Cantoria, the top auditioned choir at Truman State and has served as piano accompanist for the University Chorus as well.  He is the music director for the school’s all-male a cappella group True Men.

An avid sports fan, Jason follows the St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers in baseball, the San Antonia Spurs and Miami Heat in basketball, and the St. Louis Rams and St. Louis Blues in football and hockey.  His parents and little brother Joshua now live in Miami, Florida.  Jason’s father is a pastor and his mother helps with church activities.

Jason studies voice with Dr. Phyllis Robertson at Truman State University.
